To sit and chat under the shade of the tree, The Amphi Theatre Stairs are the place to be. But if you want a bit of quiet and cool air in this heat, the stairs going down to the computer lab are where you should be.   Looking fabulous today? There are many good spots on campus for your next instagram story!   These include the lovely gardens, MPH stairs and the field. Also check out the garden behind the MPH and the wall behind Sister's house.   The field is the place to relax in the Sun in winters, so remember to find a good spot.   *P.S. All the gossip happens in the open gym. What could be a b

This Independence is like a drug!!

They say it's the Golden Phase and these are the glorious days But how can we believe that truly When everything is oh-so blurry and sound sleep still a luxury?   Here we spread our wings and want to fly The normal adult rules do not apply We gossip, we roam,   We chill and go home,   But in the end we forget to study for the impending test! Then come the events, one by one,   That sweep us with their magnetic charm Oh so tired, afterwards we get In missing the lecture, we see no harm!   Everything is peculiar now Friends, exams, trips, and how We waste our time and casually shrug This Independence is like a drug!! - Jaya

What makes JMC a special institution

If someone is asked what makes JMC a special institution - one answer would be the beautiful lush green gardens on the campus, the other would definitely be the numerous events taking place perinially, as we go about the year. The college year begins with Comquest and ends with ComAccumen, two events of the Commerce Department, that give a great opportunity to showcase knowledge about the buzzing business world, and gain some as well. As the DU vibe starts setting in, there is E-Cell's Stratosphere that proudly caters to the entrepreneurial insights of today's young minds by organising interactive sessions with the founders of the most successful startups and cool quizzes. Then comes an event that completely takes us back to our childhood days. While enthusiastically participating in food hunts and other fun games, Mercatus' Amusement Day surely brings back the amusement of those blissful times! While we are busy in completing assignments and giving ou

COLLEGE LIFE – A New Beginning

COLLEGE LIFE – A New Beginning ~Ana S. Thomas A year ago when I first joined this college, I hadn’t the slightest idea about what to expect from this new phase of my life. Fresh out of school, college seemed to have a formidable air of independence about it. While I was excited about embarking on this new journey, at the same time, I had knots in my stomach at the very thought of not being able to share my classroom with old school friends, and agitated over how it was all going to fall into place.   Agitated or not, the first few days at college showed me, that college, is in some ways like school only and is not an ongoing party as Bollywood often portrays it to be. To be true, I realized that everyone was as lost, as confused and maybe even as nervous as I was, and also that I wasn't the only one who was worried about meeting new people. When I look back on my first day now, who knew that a girl I helped, since she spoke very little Hindi and was confused about whi

The launch of Chandrayaan 2

It gives one immense pleasure in belonging to the land of   Masters, India. The progress of the nation has been undoubtedly amazing and surprising.   The launch of Chandrayaan 2 stands as the testimony for the same. India is on its way to the moon, shortly after Isro's powerful rocket GSLV MkIII M1 lifted off from the spaceport in Sriharikota at 2.43pm and successfully placed its 3,850-kg Chandrayaan-2 into the earth orbit about 16 minutes after the launch.   ISRO truly deserves the applause and recognition that the neighboring countries have been giving. Our research scientists never feared failure. Despite their failed attempt they again reenergized themselves in full capacities to make Chandrayaan 2, a huge success. India aimed to be one of the four countries to Land on the moon's surface and shall successfully achieve it after Russia, USA and China. India seeks to explore the untouched portion of the moon that is the LUNAR SOUTH POLE of the moon. ISRO this tim
Hesitant hearts and sparkling eyes  Breaking through the comfort of school life Trying to spread their wings and fly To conquer and see what lies ahead  Of this world called the college life To rule and learn  To dream new dreams  To shatter the old moulds and  Dip your toes into the world of adulthood It’s surely scary at first  As college can be one hell of a bumpy ride But it’s all about gaining new insights  And finding your own light. So embrace your setbacks and downfalls  Only to get back up and overcome it all  It’s  gonna be a magical journey  Filled with a gamut of bittersweet memories  To be cherished for a lifetime -Aarushi Bhutani
Smt. Sheila Dixit was a visionary leader, a wise counsel, a beautiful soul of matchless valour and a role model for women in politics. One simply cannot forget her dignified Sari-clad attire, her charismatic personality and the unstoppable fire in her eyes.  History with it's sparkling light is witness to the innumerable projects she undertook in her regime. The transformation of Delhi into a World-class city was accompanied by shifting of polluting industries, switching public transport to clean, green fuel, Commonwealth games, privatisation of electricity and several infrastructure projects. She is loved and respected by history as the leader who, in her tenure, groomed our Capital for 15 years, was a patron of women's rights, represented India at the United Nations Commission on Status of Women and was imprisoned for leading a movement against atrocities committed on women. These milestones testify to her fine caliber and her unparalleled connection with the people of
