The idea behind this was to check how spontaneous, aware and quirky cool the DU students are! The questions were mostly based on the where and whats of DU along with a few other type of one word questions. This turned out to be a huge rage with the crowd, as we had people coming by the end of the day saying..”Even I wanna do the rapid fire thingy!”  And the team was more than happy to oblige. :D What attracted the crowd further more were the goodies we were giving for playing the rapid fire and getting at least 50 percent of the answers right. On 29 th October, the commerce department of Jesus and Mary College organized its annual commerce fest, COM’ACUMEN’15 with great enthusiasm and aplomb! With a wide and interesting array of events lined up for the day, the participants and the other crowd were definitely on a roll. Adding another dash of fun and excitement to this mega event was the team of THE MERCURIAN TIMES, the official newsletter of the commerce department! :D Our team of young and enthusiastic conversationalists had planned a fun interviewing session, a buzzing rapid fire game along with putting up funky photo props to offer the cool crowd the chance to get themselves clicked in all kinds of avatars. Dr. Mani Nandhi, the Head of Commerce Department could not have thought of a better time to organize a conference on 21st January 2015 by Mr. Mohan Kapoor,  a leading financial services consultant Cumbria practitioner,  especially for the third year commerce students to help them exposing their minds to the financial markets and getting a better insight into the subject matter. It was such an interactive session that things just flowed into our minds with ease.

It was indeed a matter of privilege to have Mr. Rohit Ranjan and his team to speak in front of us and share his views on the topic mind too matters in matters of heart .

DA TE: 14th January 2015 It was the only right to have Professor J.P. Sharma delivering the students a 60 minutes lecture on Makar Sankranti Day or in other words the New Year’s Day according to the Hindu Solar Calendar. The MPH full of students much eager and enthusiastic to have been able to get an opportunity to be upskilled by the Head of the Department of Commerce himself and that too on the topic he specializes in i.e. Corporate Governance was highly thought of.

This is an event in which participants had to showcase their creativity and acting talent in marketing of the existing products within a given time period. They were given 2 props each, one was directly related to the product and another prop was to be innovatively used by the participants. Even though Adcarnate was the last event before the resplendent Com’Acumen’15 bid goodbye, over 23 teams of 4 participants each joined. Event was a hit as was appreciated by huge crowd applauding performances by various teams.
