India Catches Digital Momentum, Now DIGITAL INDIA will go ‘Digital Village’ with about 12,000 rural post offices being linked digitally across the country.
Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad praised the Digital India Programme at the i-bharat conference organised by FICCI while stating that electronic transactions in India have almost doubled in 2015 to 6.95 billion according to the government website electronic transaction aggregation and analysis layer (eTAAL).
The government further plans to make electronic banking a reality in the villages by connecting all the schemes with the technology. LED lighting and solar energy would be the main source for powering the ‘Digital Village’.
