The 16th
day of January, 2018 kicked off with a great start, showcasing a perfect
blend of academics, fun and intellect. Yes, it was ComAcumen’18, the annual
fest of Department of Commerce of Jesus and Mary College. And as the college
reached the golden milestone in it’s journey of imparting knowledge the fest
was a plethora of events.
The
opening ceremony of the event started with great excitement and enthusiasm
amongst the youth!
The
beginning of the event was the felicitation of guests and lighting of the lamp.
The panel included some great names from various professional backgrounds namely
Prof. Dinesh Singh (Former Vice Chancellor, University of Delhi), Mr. A.P.
Singh (Senior IPS Officer), Ms. Radhika Kathal (Distinguished Alumni of JMC)
and Dr. Kaushal Pawar. The theme of the event was ‘Empowering Women through
Transformative Education’. The fest, focusing largely on education of women,
witnessed the presence of a large number of students, learning about the theme in
depth.
Besides
the intellect, the event also had a playful side. Various games and
competitions like Brand Tambola, Vigyapun, Stakeholder’s Meet, Com’hunt, etc.
were included in the celebration of the annual fest.
Oh Yes!
Not to forget the best part of the event, the stand-up comedy by Rahul
Subramanian, a name to reckon with in the art of comedy. Youth from different
colleges were present to laugh, giggle and enjoy the presence of the
Superman-ian!
Students
experienced bursts of laughter when Rahul Subramanian’s excellent skills in
comedy echoed in the MPH of the college!
Well, words
are not enough to sum up the success of the event! The hard work of the
teachers and the Organizing Committee, and the presence of intellect-driven
youth was all it took to call it ‘THE
ComAcumen 2018’!
