Okay,
so I’m sure you’ve all heard these words before.
I am also sure you all probably think that you
are accepting, well at least, of the standard things, such as caste, creed and
color. However, we live in 2018! And honestly, the world has more dimensions
than that, people have more dimensions than that, to themselves!
How
many times have you walked into a room and immediately started looking at how
people are dressed, whether one is sporting the latest trend, or is one able to
“pull off” what they are wearing. Did you also, like any other high school kid,
see the ones who study and get marks as “nerds” and the ones who don’t as
“badass”. Well then I’m probably right, and the truth is, you are not infact
that accepting.
Certain
mannerism or quirks one has to their personality which you find irritating,
might just be adored by someone else. I myself, talk in a childlike voice, when
I’m around the people I love, and when I’m in a playful mood. Some people find
it cute, others annoying. The point is, however you feel about one’s
mannerisms, is merely your opinion. Don’t try to impose your habits or your
ways, onto others. In a world of clones, rather than being judged, an original
should be appreciated. They have the strength to be their true selves, they are
totally happy with their imperfections, while others are striving to be
perfect, and do so requires more than boldness you think.
Many
times you may feel that you must point out to others a certain something about
them. Maybe because you’re elder to them, you’re close to them and you care
about them. However, a little restraint is always required. No one likes to
hear that what they are doing, wearing or saying, isn’t right. Once you start
realizing that these so called quirks the people around you have, are a part of
who they are, that they are happy how they portray themselves to the world, and
that they are old and smart enough to know if what they are doing, saying or
wearing is right or wrong for them, is when you will truly be accepting of
those around you.
