Mrs. Hudson – Sherlock series.
While Mrs. Hudson is the landlady of the
infamous house 221 B Baker Street, she sure knows how to keep her little family
intact. From a puny little old widow to a complete badass woman who would go to
any lengths to keep her Baker boys safe, it would be safe to say she is the
Queen of the Sherlock series. Molly and Irene Adler still coming up close. The
character of Mrs. Hudson has evolved as the plot has progressed and it is
definitely for good. She has never failed to surprise the viewers. Maybe it’s
due to the life instilling acting of“Una Stubbs” who, quite
dramatically, is a mother of two. Well, that explains the motherly
compassionate side of Mrs. Hudson.
However, I personally feel quite connected to a
character like Mrs. Hudson because she not only represents an understanding
crony but also a brave lady. In today’s world we need more of the latter. Her
bold actions towards ensuring her own husband’s conviction and execution speak
a lot more than anyone can express. Thus, putting up a sorry figure, we, as
viewers, can never stop sympathizing and adoring her, and savagery being her
forte, she puts up a contrasting crunch in more of a grim thriller series.
After all, Mrs. Hudson is the only one who can mess with Mrs. Hudson’s car.
Despite an unfortunate end of the Sherlock saga, the
most important thing to remember is that Mrs. Hudson is
Sherlock’s landlady not his Housekeeper! *Wink*
