The Best of Street Food for Foodies...
Mithi Lassi and Bhelpuri! Paneer tikka, Chutneys and Samosas!
Everyone who comes to India is greeted by the sight of these
delicacies: be it a restaurant in a metropolitan city or a gol-gappa walla in a
small town!
'Chaats' are famous in the
North. People especially go to Dehli-6 to enjoy chaats and 'Dilli 6 ki mashoor'
local delicacies. You find a gol-gappa-walla tucked away in the corner of every
street.
Coming to the East, Chop is famous which is another version of Aloo tikki. In West Bengal you get rolls, fried prawns and prawn chops.
In the West, Maharashtra has the best street food. The ‘poor man’s burger’-WadaPav, masala chai, Pavbhaji, Bhelpuri and Sevpuri are widely available.
In the South, let’s start with Kerala. In Kerala, you get Thattukada. They are covered carts with utensils and stoves that serve street food like ThattuDosa. In Tamil Nadu similarly Thalluvandi is found. You also get varieties of Omelets, Dosas and Idlis in South India. As you go nearer to the sea you get sea food like Masala Prawns , Lobsters and a variety of fishes. You also get tender coconut water.
