iPhone 7: Is it worth it?
Apple’s iPhone 7
is surely the most talked about device of the year. Although iPhone 7 doesn't
feel like a "whole brand new thing", Apple does bring
some notable features in the new model:
- Improved Front and Rear Cameras
In the smartphone
industry, there has been a constant comparison between Apple and Samsung. Both
the companies even out when it comes to the best camera, useful features and
new launches. Now, with optical image stabilization, previously restricted to
the 5.5-inch Plus model, iPhone 7 delivers much-improved photos, especially in
low-light, which is an Achilles’ heel for most smartphones
- Stereo Speakers
The speaker sounds
are louder than before as there are two speakers now, instead of a single
speaker down by the home button. It’s a good thing if you’ve forgotten your
Bluetooth speakers at home. You can happy use the iPhone 7 to tune into some
music by the campfire without it being drowned out by the crackling fire. It's
perfect for a Netflix binge!
- Enhanced Storage
iPhone 7 promises
you more onboard storage than last year's models for the same price. Bigger
storage options including 256GB model for serious photographers! It’s a move,
we've been pleading Apple to make for a long time!
- Water resistance
iPhone 7 is fully
water-resistant (it can take a shallow dunking). We can now snap pictures
having fun in the pool and needn’t be extra cautious with our precious iPhones,
when around water.
- Faster processor
The processor is
faster, and we can get a glimpse of this improvement in intensive games and
‘video and photo-editing’ apps. This feature is highly appreciated by serious
iPhone gamers!
The new iPhone has
also got a "wide colour gamut" screen with enhanced colour accuracy.
The home button
isn't "clickable" anymore. It works perfectly well but takes some
getting used to because there's no mechanical click when you press the home
button.
Apple has also
added new colours this year. Now the phone comes in two versions of black in
addition to the existing silver, gold and rose gold colours. Regular black is
matte, while jet black is a high gloss.
All-in-all Apple
has introduced certain new features that maybe ‘Wow’ for some and ‘Eh’ for the
others. It’s safe to say that Apple has remarkable customer loyalty and are
confident on iPhone 7’s success.
