Teacher, you may not see the fruit of today's work, but you have seeded a lifetime of knowledge.
A SPELLBINDING TREAT TO TEACHERS ON TEACHERS’ DAY
A teacher is one who directs you towards paths that are left untried and helps you leave footprints of success behind. Having knowledge of this fact, the JMC Commerce Department left no stone unturned to make the occasion of Teachers’ Day worth cherishing. The Department, exhibiting utmost fervor, put up a spectacular event for their beloved mentors on the theme ‘Old is Gold’.
The programme kicked off at 12:00 pm with an introductory message from Priyanka Sethi, President, Commerce Association, where she expressed her joy in celebrating the most revered day and acknowledged the importance of our intellectual mentors, in molding the careers of the students.
This was followed by an enthralling dance performance and several songs reflecting the aura of the 80s and the 90s. Soon ,the teachers were seen grooving to the beat of the music. Next in line was a mono-act performed by a second-year student, Karishma Kapoor which she concluded with a thanksgiving message to all her beloved mentors. This was followed by a game where the teachers were required to guess the movie from the respective audio or visual display. Everyone participated with a lot of enthusiasm. Consequently, the students performed a mesmerizing dance which was followed by constant applause from the spectators. By then, the teachers were instilled with the sense of nostalgia. Next in line was a warm message from Shubhangi, a first-year student wherein she paid gratitude to the respected teachers. Another fun game followed where lots were drawn; the names of the teachers that turned up were called to perform anything as per their wish. Some performed Yoga while others performed Bhangra and it was very gratifying to see all of them being so sporty and upbeat.
Adding grandeur to the event was a cake cutting ceremony where teachers, very cheerfully, cut the cake. Before the event concluded, the vote of thanks was delivered by Hannah Paulose, Treasurer, Commerce Association. The final speech was given by Dr. Rekha Dayal, Commerce HOD, wherein she acknowledged all the efforts of the people who made this event a huge success.
Altogether, it was very worthwhile to take some time out of our busy schedules to thank those wonderful people who make our lives more meaningful.
