Bill Gates Net worth hits an all time
high of $90 billion
The net
worth of World’s richest person-Bill Gates-reached $90 billion on Friday for
the first time in history fuelled by the gains in public holdings such as
Canadian National Railway Company and Ecolab Inc.
Gates, who
stepped down as a chairman of Microsoft in early 2014 but has remained a board
member of the company he cofounded ,owns roughly 2.5% of Microsoft, which
accounts for just under 15% of his fortune.
He is now
almost $13.5 billion richer than the second richest person in the world-Amancio
Ortega-Spanish mogul behind the fashion retailer Zara ,and a shocking $23
billion richer than Warren Buffet, CEO of Berkshire Hathaway who is worth $67
billion.
The
Microsoft co-founder’s fortune is now equal to 0.5% of US GDP.
