URI: THE SURGICAL STRIKE MOVIE REVIEW The heart throb, Vicky Kaushal returned to the cinemas with Uri:The Surgical Strike last friday with a much awaited role. Though everyone was quite aware of the storyline and the series of events, it didn’t stop people from going to the cinemas and watching it and the box office numbers are speaking for themselves. Hindi films are about emotion and not nuance. It’s just their grammar, and not necessarily a flaw or a shortcoming. But Uri: The Surgical Strike, is fashioned as a different kind of Bollywood war film, recalling the retaliatory strikes undertaken by the Indian Army on terrorist launch pads in Pakistan, and if pruned judiciously it might’ve worked as a crisp, gritty procedural. The protagonist, Vicky Kaushal was a perfect fit for the role of Major Vihaan Shergil, with the physical bulkiness combined with the sheer conscientiousness that the role required.
